As new members register with the parish we send them a welcome packet and then every six months the Stewardship Committee hosts a breakfast for them.  At this time we have various ministries there so they can learn what the parish has to offer.

We have brought back the Annual Parish Picnic each fall.  With creating a team and the Knights of Columbus assisting they have been well attended.  This has been a great way to have fun and meet some new parishioners.

Each fall we have hosted a Whole Community Event that centers on stewardship and trying to educate the community to just what stewardship is.  To further enhance that we had a Stewardship retreat here in February where an Ocala parish came and helped educate us on stewardship.

We strongly felt that our parish had a misconception of just what the word stewardship means so we decided to have a “Year of Stewardship” and try to explain this throughout the year.  It is more than just money.  Time and talent are very important too in order to have a vibrant community.

We just recently have had a Legacy Tree created that is on the wall in the narthex.  This is for anyone to donate to in honor or memory of someone.

In the fall of 2015 we are going to initiate a children’s envelope and have a special collection for them on the third Sunday of each month.  We also are planning more involvement in the Faith Formation Classes to educate them at an early age just what their responsibilities are to their church.

We are also excited that at the end of September we will be offering an Alpha Retreat for the parishioners.

Currently we have 8 members on the committee.  We continue to work hard to bring stewardship into every aspect of our parish life.

Chairperson: Don Carothers

The Stewardship Committee was formed in the fall of 2012 when Fr. Emmanuel came to our parish.  Our first undertaking was to update our parish data census since this had not been done in about 10 years.  We asked everyone to register, so that we would have a more accurate census.

In conjunction with the Diocese we held several seminars on Wills and Estate Planning in the fall of 2013.  These were well attended and we plan to offer them again.
